LESSON #7 - ETERNAL JUDGMENT
Gen.18:25 Psalms 9:8 John 7:24
Notice that God says that He will do what is right in His judgment of men when He someday judges all men for what they
have done in this life.
I Samuel 2:25
Notice that this scripture indicates that there is no defense lawyer to help when we have sinned against God. This was
true under the Old covenant. In the New Covenant Jesus is our defense lawyer if we are a Christian.
Psalms 50:4-5 Romans 14:10
There is coming a time when God will first judge His
people (O.T. & N.T. saints). Their salvation will not be in question. They will be judged for what kind of reward they
will receive.
Psalms 94:2
Then there will be a judgment of the proud of the earth.
This would be those who don't want God's help, and have done things their own way.
John 12:48 Acts 10:42 Acts 17:31
Notice that it will be Jesus' own words will judge
both righteous and the ungodly in "the last day". In that day, judgment won't be based on any other standard
than Christ's Word.
Romans 2:16 Romans 14:12
Notice also that God will judge the secrets of men,
women, teenagers, and children. Every secret thing anyone has ever done, will be exposed and judged. If we aren't saved,
we will have to testify against ourselves and defend ourselves..
I Cor.6:3
God will judge the ungodly through Christ's Words.
Christ will judge the saints (believer from Old & New Testament times), and the believer's will judge the godly and
fallen angels that God created.
2 Timothy 4:1
When will this judgment start? For Christian...when
Christ comes in the air for them. Unsaved...at Christ's Second earthly coming.
2 Tim.4:8
What will we receive at the judgment seat of Christ
if it has nothing to do with whether we will go to heaven? We will receive the crown of righteousness (the crown of right
living before God).
Revelation 20:11-15
Those who didn't receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior
aren't so lucky. They must be judged on the basis of their works, not on the basis of the favor of God through Christ.
eternal final judgment is called by "the great white throne judgment".
